What Are Passes & Permits?

Travel permits are official permissions required for entering certain protected, restricted or regulated areas of Northeast India. Depending on your destination and nationality, you may need:

Inner Line Permit
ILP

Required for Indian citizens travelling to Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Mizoram and Manipur.

Protected Area Permit
PAP

Required for visiting protected or high-altitude destinations such as Tsomgo Lake, Nathula and parts of North Sikkim.

Restricted Area Permit
